Welcome to Makmuzc Voice Studio under the instruction of Antoinette (Toni) Cotturone.
Getting to know your own voice and having it function freely and artistically is a lifelong journey and one worth taking. Focusing on developing your talent, time will be taken to listen to your particular goals and passions and creating exercises and choosing repertoire to get you on that path.
Students will be instructed in proper breathing and vocal technique suited to their age, vocal range and desired outcome. Music from many genres, such as classical, musical theatre, praise and worship, pop, jazz, etc., will be utilized to assist them in achieving their goals. Basic music theory, sight-singing and ear training are also taught within the framework of the lesson and the music.
Students will be encouraged to participate in one master class and one recital each year, preparing them for the joy of public performance. They will perform two prepared pieces for friends and family members. The master class will provide opportunities to sing with an accompanist, experiment with and expand the student's ability to sing expressively and provide the student with constructive feedback from other students within the studio to prepare them for the recital. It is in this supportive environment that genuine growth of the performer takes place.
